Preparation for the Manulife LPGA Classic
Last year, Inbee Park set the LPGA record with a 10-under-par 61. She secured her first win at the Manulife LPGA Classic. You probably know that year was after her absence. Since this victory, Park has been treated as one of the best golfers in the world. She had 9 top-5 finishes and 4 titles in 23 events. Don’t forget about T5 at ShopRite LPGA Classic Presented by Acer (event from the last week). Also, in 2015 she leads in statistical categories (top 10 finishes (7), rounds under par (35/43) and average scoring (69.62))
The famous Manulife Classic will host 10 golfers from Canada. 3 of them are members of the LPGA. They are: Rebecca Lee Bentham, Alena Sharp and Sue Kim. Other players that received sponsor invites are: Brooke Henderson, Sara-Maude Juneau, Brittany Henderson, Augusta James, Jennifer Kirby and Lori Kane. Natalie Gleadall will also attend. She shot 72 on Monday.
Alena Sharp is on the top of the LPGA money list, of all Canadian players. She is 84th with $52.095. Brooke Henderson is ranked 69th. This means that she is the highest ranked Canadian golfer.
Lydia Ko will also be present at the Manulife LPGA Classic. She took a week off ShopRite. Also, she is the Rolex Rankings No. 1. Ko leads the money list and she has 7 top 10 finishes in 10 events. She also had a pair of victories. You probably remember that her two, first LPGA victories were at the Canadian Women’s Open (2012 and 2013). At that time she was just 15/16 years old.
