Five essential tips for women golfers
Golf is becoming one of the most popular sports in the world, and not just for business men. Statistics show that the number of women golfers is on the rise. In fact, colleges all over America state that in the past decade, 90% of women’s golf scholarships go unused, but that has made a drastic decline in the past five years. However, if you’re picking up on the golf kick later in life there are some tips that might get your game up to par a little faster!
First, find a home course. This will allow you to learn the ins and outs of the course and you will play better with each passing round. Even without improving your overall game, this will give you the opportunity to meet ‘golf friends’ who you can play with and learn from. You will be much less intimidated when you know the people around you on the course, and you will be more likely to relax and have fun.
Second, if you’re really in it to play long term, get a custom set of golf clubs. Clubs that are modified specifically for your body size and your swing will seriously help you improve your game. If you try to learn the game with clubs that don’t fit, you’re making it harder than it needs to be.
Third, take a few lessons. Golf lessons aren’t terribly expensive and if you are going to invest in the sport, it’s better to know the proper way to begin with so you aren’t trying to break a bad habit later on.
Fourth, practice at home. Your mother always told you ‘practice makes perfect’, and so is the case with golf. The more you practice putting and driving, even grasping your club, the better off you will be.
Fifth, and finally, make it a fun experience! You have enough stress in your life so don’t add to it by trying to be a pro. Relax and enjoy!
